Dispute Resolution
If you
find yourself involved in a dispute with a contractor then it is vital that you
deal with the dispute in an appropriate manner to ensure that the issue does
not escalate. Should the matter proceed as far as the courts, if you have followed
the guidelines set out below then you should be in a firm position to make your
case.
The first
step in resolving any dispute is communication. You must ensure that your
contractor knows that you are unhappy with the quality, cost or timeliness of
their work and give them opportunity to resolve the issues.
However,
once you have taken reasonable steps to resolve the issues to no avail then you
should consider using a series of dispute resolution letters which can be
