Gatwick Building Job Goes to Taylor Woodrow
Taylor Woodrow has won a £31.3 million contract to redevelop Pier Two of Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal.
The work will increase the number of stands on the south side of the pier from the existing 9 to 13 which, in turn, will prepare the airfield for the future demolition and redevelopment of Pier One.
Improvements will also be made to the gaterooms to provide a better environment for passengers.
Gatwick’s development director David Brewer said: “This important contract is a significant part of the one billion pound capital investment programme now being implemented at London Gatwick Airport.
“In addition to enhancing the facilities and environment for our passengers, and improved service for our airlines, the changes will enable us to make a more efficient use of the airfield, taxiways and airport infrastructure and prepare us for the future.”
