At SafeTrade we often get calls from customers asking questions such as "Would a Plumber deal with drainage problems? and Can Plumbers fix electric showers?". We therefore thought it would be a good idea to take some time to explain in more detail what services are covered by the various trades registered with our organisation. Obviously we can't list every little service which each and every contractors on our books carries out but we can try to provide a general overview to help our customers determine who they should contact.

I'm sure everyone is aware that plumbers are responsible for the water works, however some are not so clear on the other services currently offered by plumbers. Most plumbers on our register are in fact, plumbing and heating engineers and therefore they do a lot more to keep your house in working order than fixing that running sound that is coming from your toilet.  Plumbers are responsible for, obviously, your home’s water, drainage and sewage; and they are also the tradesmen you call if you need help with your heating or air conditioning. A number of the plumbers registered with SafeTrade work on both Domestic and Commercial properties including work on the piping for process plants.  SafeTrade Registered Plumbers can install pipe, gas, oil and steam systems. Some of our SafeTrade registered plumbers offer a 24hour emergency service for burst pipes, leaks etc, you can view full details of all of the services offered by each of our plumbing companies.


All of our SafeTrade Plumbers are intially vetted to make sure that they have the relevant experience in the trade and that they meet required standards. Any plumbers who undertake gas work also need to be Corgi registered, and we do thorough checks to ensure that all of the plumbers on our books meet these standards.  In April 2009 - Corgi registration is set to change - further information on this can be found on our 3rd March 2009 Blog.
