Formed in 1973 by its present managing director, Andy Dowden, Brandwells Construction employs a workforce of 150 people.

The range of contracts undertaken includes:
Housing development - including road and sewer infrastructure, foundation and external works.
Commercial Development - including major reinforced concrete structures and infrastructure works
Local Authority Projects - including highway and bridge works, waterproofing and strengthening.

The company’s operations extend from Bristol along the M4 and M5 corridors, from Bridgend to Swindon and from Tewkesbury to Exeter.

Much of Brandwells work is obtained through negotiation, rather than tender. This is because the company works closely with potential clients from the early stages of a contract, advising on planning and providing Value Engineering input.

In particular, Brandwells has developed software which can be used to appraise initial groundwork plans and suggest costed alternatives, based on ‘what if’ scenarios.
